More Answers

I’m gonna get this book meme over with and then start using my tumblr for other things!

Day 09 - Best scene ever
Hmmm… there’s lots. I’ll pick one I suppose! I love the scene in Jane Eyre where Jane says to Mr. Rochester:

“Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! - I have as much soul as you, - and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you!” — Charlotte Bronte

Day 10 - A book you thought you wouldn’t like but ended up loving
Under Two Flags by Ouida

Day 11 - A book that disappointed you
Marked by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. This shouldn’t have surprised me really, just the girl in the book store talked it up so much.

Day 12 - A book or series of books you’ve read more than five times
I’m going to stop going with the obvious (Harry Potter), and mention some others. Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery. I also read the other two in the series a million times as a kid.

Day 13 - Favorite childhood book OR current favorite YA book (or both!)
Childhood: Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine, Emily of New Moon, Emily Climbs, and Emily’s Quest by L.M. Montgomery.

:)

This non-consecutive-day challenge is taking me wayyy to long. Can I answer three days at once? Yup, I can :)

Day 06 - Favorite book of your favorite series OR your favorite book of all time
Soo, I can’t choose one favourite but I especially love The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Half-blood Prince.

Day 07 - Least favorite plot device employed by way too many books you actually enjoyed otherwise
Hmm, I don’t know about this one. I just hate when EVERYTHING is resolved so nicely that it makes a promising story unconvincing.

Day 08 - A book everyone should read at least once
Hmm, I make everyone read Paper Towns by John Green. I think it’s wonderfully amazing!

Yuck.

Day 05 - A book or series you hate

Easy.

Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.

No picture right now, but you can watch the trailer for the new movie if you want. The trailer gives quite a good taste of how awful the book is. Oh well.

Also, Gold Dust Letters by Janet Taylor Lisle. I read this book when I was like seven years old, and it was just heart breaking. Not because I believed in fairies (I didn’t), but because what was the point of reading a book where the characters find out that fairies don’t exist?

Who needs escapism? Let’s always remind kids that magic doesn’t exist in the real world, geez *sarcasm*.

Time to get ready for work!

Seeya :)

These are few of my favourite things!

Day 04 - Your favorite book or AND series ever

Oh this is easy!

Favourite single book: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Favourite series: I’m sure these books will come up numerous times in this challenge, but they are such a huge part of my life. Harry Potter, obviously!

Quotes

Soo, I decided that I’d write one of my favourite quotes at the top of the page. I’ll change it every so often, whenever I feel like it :)

30-Random-Day-Challenge continued..

I think it’s realistic to say that the 30 days that I post my answers to this challenge are not going to be 30 consecutive days. So, here’s day 3:

Day 03 - The best book you’ve read in the last 12 months

Wow, I really didn’t read as many amazing books last year as I usually do. I’m looking at my list and I think I’ll pick a favourite from school, and a favourite non-school book.

School favourite: Beowulf (I know it’s actually a long poem, but it counts!)

Non-school: Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan

Alright! Off to take advantage of my snow day, and clean up my room!

Elizabeth

Everyday Posts, Yeah Right.

So much for doing a 30 day challenge, haha. I was going to catch up on all the posts that I missed, but I figured I’d just pretend that today was day two.

Day 02 - A book or series you wish more people were reading and talking about

I always wished more people had read O.R. Melling’s series The Chronicles of Faerie. I’d absolutely love to see a movie of the second one, The Summer King.

Check out O.R. Melling’s books here!

A Little Procrastination

Sooo! I made myself this tumblr account a little while ago, but haven’t really done anything with it because of school papers/exams and such. But, with one exam left to go I think I’ll procrastinate just a little bit! I won’t fiddle out with the layout and all that, I could spend hours on that. Instead, I found myself a 30 day challenge that will only take a couple of minutes a day to fill out. Just a little procrastination really.

So here it is, a 30 day book challenge from here.

Day 01 - A book series you wish had gone on longer OR a book series you wish would just freaking end already (or both!)

Image from here.

No one that knows me would expect any other answer from me. Even though I think the books ended brilliantly and I don’t, in theory, think there should be an 8th one, there’s nothing like picking up a new Harry Potter book and reading it for the first time. Thanks Jo!

Tumblr, I think I’m going to like you.
